Hope things are cooler soon for you all...

I so love those pretty sweet peas and pretty purple hydrangeas. Our hydrangeas wilt with the sun each day, but generally perk up at dusk.

Enjoy these last few days of July!Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10368237913096460512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4412818587055987458.post-91712925620749477902019-07-27T21:45:04.624+01:002019-07-27T21:45:04.624+01:00The courgette looks perfect, I bet it was nice and...The courgette looks perfect, I bet it was nice and tasty and like th others say just pick when its big enough for you. Well done with the lettuce too, so much tastier when picked, plated and eaten within 10 mins. Hope your cough is soon a thing of the past, its bad enough not sleeping with the heat without having a cough too. Yes, pick the courgettes when they are dark and firm, or they will go squishy very quickly. We love ours cooked with tomatoes, black pepper and a bit of garlic as a side instead of regular veg. Hot and humid here and very unpleasant to work in ( no A/C ) we just open doors and windows and have lots of fans. We've had short bursts of heavy rain and thunderstorms. I stay in the cooler living room, but it is also very warm there.
Let's see what the weekend brings, it should be thunderstorms and rain. I haven't done any knitting for the last few days, my hands are just too hot all the time to pick up wool. I haven't sown sweet peas for the last few years but they're so lovely with such a gorgeous scent. It seems to be a good year for roses. Yes, just pick courgettes as they become large enough, just one plant usually produces plenty.
