Whoooohoooo Our Very Own Super Model!

No, I'm not talking about cars, I've had it up to here with cars, lol (but thank you all for you good wishes and sympathies, i'll update on news another time)
I want to share some happy news with you this time.
A couple of days before we went on holiday i saw a competition advertised by the Cats Protection League in our local paper, they were looking for photos of cats for their 2011 calendar.
Despite much snickering from my family (they think I'm the crazy cat woman) i entered a photo I'd taken of Molly.
It had slipped my mind, what with one thing and another going on but i got an e-mail last night telling me that Molly's photo had been chosen to feature in the calendar!
I was over the moon :-)
but, it gets better
I emailed them the photo as they asked, and today i got reply to say that Molly has actually been chosen as the overall winner and her photo will appear on the cover of the calendar, and we also get to choose which month she will be! How cool is that!!!
Even better still is that she has also won a photo session with a professional photographer who will come to our house and take a set of photos which i will the be given on a disc (insert big grin here!)
Here she is the super model herself in her winning shot

And because i have 2 beautiful girls i can't leave without showing a photo of Millie too, after all a mother has no favourites ;-)

I wish now I'd got a better photo of Millie too, then i could have entered them both, although It's harder to get a good shot of Millie because she is so fast and she thinks everything is a game, and being all black makes it harder

Millie

I can't tell you how much we love these two little faces, they mean the world to us.

Until next time x

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Molly is gorgeous and the way her hands---oh I know they are called paws with some people but they are hands to me--are sitting perfectly on the edging is too cute.

Pick a month in the calendar that has 31 days so she will be seen as long as she can be.LOL

Hi Maggie,

Do you think that Molly would
autograph one of the calenders
for my Rupert and Phoebe?

It's no wonder that your photo
went on to win the top honors
because it is a beautiful shot
of Molly, showing off her
gorgeous fur coat, her lovely
face, and even the silky
texture of her fur.

I love black cats!! And your
Millie is so handsome in her
black fur coat and bright, shiny
gold (yes?) eyes.

Our first cat was all gray and
taking pictures of her was also
difficult because she was all
one color, and dark gray at that.

Rupert is easiest of all to
photograph because of his
orange stripes and white
accents. And his tendency
to be a goof ball whose antics
make for hilarious photos.

Darn it but you've really had
quite a time with your poor car
these past few weeks haven't
you??? The fender bender was
bad enough, but it was an
accident. But a serious
mechanical problem like you
described in such a young car
is downright criminal. And
it's worse when the dealership
just doesn't seem to care.
Hope things can get resolved
there fairly quickly for you.

Love all your recent stitching
finishes, including the Red
House which very much features
my favorite color ... RED!!
The jaunty red bow is a perfect
accent for this one and is a
great match to the thread color.

I think the little snowman
ornie is really cute, and
I really love that green
you chose for the scarf and
the present.

Don't you just love what a
nice variegated thread can
do for a single color design
such as Souvenir de France?
Very pretty, and sort of
Fall-ish in color scheme,
don't you think??

You spent some time in one
of my most favorite of cities
I see (Sept 2nd post). I
stayed in Bath for five days
during one of my solo trips
to England back in the (gulp!!)
early eighties. I loved
walking it's streets and
taking in the wonderful
architecture as well as the
history and the postcard
perfect scenery of it.

Rubie Owl is looking fantastic
in it's frame by the way. I
admire your tenacity in stitch-
ing each one of those leaves.
I'd be forever doing something
like this because I'd be bored
with leaf after leaf after ...

Been reading much lately???

I guess I'd better finish this
letter off before it gets any
longer. It's great being back
in touch again with you.

Cheers!!

And a well deserved win too - fantastic pic of Molly. Well done! Though I do have a fondness for black cats... they remind me of my Sally cat. :0)

Maggie your kitties are just totally beautiful!!! I am so happy for you that Molly's photo has been selected! I once entered a little dog I had in a local pet contest. I won 3rd place but the best thing was a lady saw her and loved her photo and wanted to get a little shih-tzu so she contacted me. My little male, another dog I had sired some puppies and this lady got one and she and I became best of friends. I won so much for having met her because of my photo. Congratulations. Your babies are so pretty!!
