Flowers and bunnies on a sunny Sunday afternoon

A much shorter post this week, and one with crafty goodness :-)

Some weeks ago I had a thought that I would like to make some crochet flowers, after many Google and Pinterest searches one pattern kept coming up, the Maybelle flower.
The pattern is easy to remember and in no time at all I had a lovely collection pretty circles.

Do you like my little project bag?
I ordered some yarn from the Wool Warehouse some time ago and their deliveries come beautifully wrapped in these organza bags.....Perfect for holding your projects :-)

Arranged any which way I love them!

I need to make one more yellow and orange, then i will have four of each colour.
I'm thinking they would make a lovely garland (or 2) :-)

For those that are interested, I used Rico Cotton and a 3mm hook.
The only change I made to the pattern was to start with a magic ring so that the hole in the middle was smaller.
If you should feel the urge to make some too, the pattern is here

~~~~~~~~~~
During my week away I stitched on the Snowflower Diaries April pattern but was a bit lazy when it came to making it up, actually, in the end I didn't make it up at all.
I was having a sort out and came across this plain white photo frame and thought "that'll do nicely thank you" :-)
I took the glass out and put some wadding on some stiff cardboard and just put it in the frame.
You probably can't see from the photo but the wadding just makes the stitched piece stand forward in the frame a little.
I also left off the boarder stitching.
As you can see, I still have a 'bunny' theme going on for my April mantle, apart from different flowers and this new finish, it hasn't changed this month.
~~~~~~~~~~

The weather is doing some strange things at the moment, yesterday morning we woke up to a covering of snow!  Today is beautiful sunshine.
The rain we have been getting is proper heavy rain and these have taken a bit of a beating

And yes! my hostas are coming up :-)
You either love these or hate them, Mark hates them, I LOVE them, so we have 2 huge tubs, lol

~~~~~~~~~~
I'm going to put my feet up and give some attention to Elizabeth  now as she hasn't seen the light of day for a couple of weeks.
Have a good week
Hello Maggie,
Such a lovely post, all things bright and beautiful!!!
LOVE your coasters and the April sampler is cute too. I made January and will make them one day but not enough time right now ... it's great to see them at other blogs though :)
Your garden looks beautiful.
These crochet flowers are so lovely, and you can make so many things with them. I'm very curious to see the result :)
Nice April bunny, he looks good in the frame.
What wonderful flowers you have got in your garden, so colourful.
The crochet flowers are so pretty, they'd look fabulous made in to a shawl. Those little Wool Warehouse bags are so handy to have, aren't they, and they make the yarn delivery a little bit more special too. I thought your Joyful World looked different somehow, it's the border which is missing, I think it gives the design a different look without it. I'm a fan of hostas but I'm afraid the slugs are too. I find they leave them alone more if they're grown in pots though.
Love the colours you've crocheted your flowers in and look forward to seeing your wreath. I too like hosts but sadly we have a terrible slug problem so they are a no no in our garden.
I love Hostas too! Your crochet flowers are lovely, and I might have a go at the pattern, even though I'm not much of a crocheter.
Oh, if only I could get my April SAL finished too, instead of being distracted by other WIPs...yours is beautiful, well done x
I love your crocheted flowers - very colorful and pretty! I'm good at stitching all of the pieces but somehow they never get made into anything. : )Love your framed April addition, too! And your flowers are beautiful! I love Hostas but unfortunately have the same slug problem others do. I never thought about growing them in pots - I'll have to try it.
Maggie, your crochet flowers are so pretty and I really, really love the colours that
you ... er .... stitched (?) them in. They would look wonderful in a garland or
sewn together as a table mat or runner or any number of other ideas.
Your April Snowflowers Diaries is sweet and colourful. And your little ceramic
bunny compliments it nicely. THat's a pretty piece.
Oh I envy how much more Spring like your garden is compared to ours. Glorious
colours of primroses, and daffys. We have Hostas and I do like them. They bring
stately growth to the shaded parts of the garden. I especially love when they are
variegated. And we have some of the mini ones too which are quite cute.
How is Millie doing these days??
Cheers for now!
