We just couldn't have had more perfect weather for this Bank Holiday weekend, It's been absolutely glorious.
Easter Sunday also happened to be my youngest daughters birthday this year too, she turned 25 today. In 1994 the weather was nowhere near as lovely, either for Easter,(which was earlier in the month that year), or the day she was born, in fact i'm sure we had some snow just before she was born.
We decided to make the most of the weather and have afternoon tea outside, I made a Simnal cake yesterday, first time I've made this particular cake, it looks the part, can't comment on the taste because I haven't tried it yet, but i'm sure it's fine, what's not to like, it has two layers of marzipan, lol
The kids had fun hunting for their eggs and playing in the sunshine
I've been enjoying sitting in my little blue house while the weather is nice, although it does get rather hot in there late afternoon.
Someone else has also been enjoying time in there, and doesn't seem mind the heat, lol
We still have lots of colour in the garden, I will be sorry when the Tulips are finished.
We have one more day of relaxation tomorrow, I don't plan on going anywhere, Mark is still working on Stevie's bathroom so I'm just going to enjoy some quiet time at home.
I hope you all had a lovely Easter too.
Until next time

Beautiful photos of a happy day. Best, Jane :)
That looks like a wonderful Easter Day! The children are so cute and the flowers and cake are beautiful. I hope it tasted as good as it looked!
Congratulations to your daughter, the weather has really played, if you can sit outside it is just wonderful. Oh, your cake looks delicious, and I like it with marzipan. In the meantime, my children are bigger and the easter egg hunt does not take place anymore. It is nice that you can still enjoy it.
Have a nice quiet day. Martina
Your garden looks beautiful , I was using my summer house to over the weekend.
Happy Birthday to your daughter , love the cake.
Oh what fun to have a tea party with all the little ones takes me back in
time. Have a lovely day .
We had a family Easter Sunday, which we loved, and our first ever egg hunt. Everyone is now gone, so just hubby and I and a relaxing day. Your garden is stunning, and I am green with envy, you have beautiful tulips in your garden, I have to grow them in pots.
what gorgeous kiddies. We have one with red hair as well now!! Lovely flowers in the garden.
Lovely photographs you've shared.
A perfect Easter and birthday celebration.
All the best Jan
That looks like the perfect combined Easter Sunday and birthday celebration. The cake looks fabulous, I'm sure it tasted just as good as it looks. Awww, the children are growing up, they're not babies long enough, are they? It's nice to have them at similar ages. I just wanted to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my last post about the death of my mum and also the emails, it helped so much to know that people were thinking about me at such a terrible time xx
Oh, your Easter/Birthday celebration looks wonderful, Maggie--what a wonderful time of year for your daughter to be born! Your weather looks MUCH better than ours on Easter which was rainy, gray and dreary :(
Lovely looking cake and cupcakes and your tulips are gorgeous. Ours are blooming now, too, but within the safe fenced area of my husband's vegetable garden so our deer can't eat them. Doesn't quite have the same pretty effect as when they are planted around the garden or in planters!
Enjoy your week!
Your simnel cake does look tasty Maggie.
The children are growing so big, I remember when you told me you were to a nanna for the first time, seems like only last week!
The summer house visitor seems right at home lol
My daughter has turned 25 years too, on March 11th. Thank you for you nice pictures.
Miriam
