I've mentioned a few times that I've not had the urge to stitch for a while, in fact I haven't picked up any stitching at all since last November when I went to the Kingfisher reteat in Someset. While I was away that November weekend I started North Pole by Kathy Barrick.
As you can see I got a fair bit of stitching done on that Somerset retreat but since then It's been sat in a bag.
This weekend I attended another two day stitching retreat, closer to home this time and of course North Pole came with me and as you can see I got the rest of the left hand motifs stitched and most of the right hand side, along with Santa's face and eyes, (I'll leave the rest of the facial stitching until the end incase the long stitches get pulled).
The retreat was held at a local to me hotel and I could easily have traveled it but Mark was going to a retirement 'do' at Newbury races and staying over so he treated me to an overnight stay at the retreat hotel.
I had a fabulous time, great company and food and lots of laughter, just what I needed and I found my stitching mojo :-)
I really enjoyed stitching again and I'm going to try and fit in at least one evening of stitching a week, you never know there may be a new Santa finish for Christmas, ha ha.
BTW, in case anyone is interested I'm stitching on 20 count cream evenweave using the DMC conversion.

Always good to get your stitching mojo back and I'm sure there's time to get him stitched for Christmas. Your stitching retreat sound great fun. I'm going on a crochet retreat with my daughter in November which will be fun.
Stitching always comes back, can't wait to see him finished.
So pleased you got your stitching mojo back :)
All the best Jan
A crochet retreat sounds like fun, I'm sure you'll have a great time. I'd like to get him finished for Christmas, whatch this space, lol
Yes it does, I've had times in the past when I've not wanted to stitch, sometimes other things take it's place for a while but it was nice to be stitching again
Thank you Jan, It was like I hadn't not stitched for all that time, I really enjoyed it.
You managed to get a great deal done on your stitching.
God bless.
That sounds like a lovely weekend, it's nice to meet up with like-minded people. Glad you've got your stitching mojo back, I've recently started a new cross stitch but have only put a few stitches in it, I'm just so short on time at the moment.
I'm glad your stitching mojo is back and you are enjoying your current project. The retreat sounds like a lovely way to enjoy stitching with good company.
I think we are all the same , I get so busy in the Summer but I try and get a couple of threads in each day . But I know it's good when your mojo comes back .
I thought it was just me....LOL I haven't done diddly squat since Christmas either!
I just love North Pole, Maggie, and am so happy to see you stitching it again. It looks like such a fun stitch with all those sweet motifs, too. Glad you are enjoying your stitching again! ♥
Wonderful progress on your Santa.
Have a nice weekend Manuela
Glad you had such a good time at the retreat and got your mojo back!! It's good to see you making headway. Your stitch goal of once a week is a good one, from that you can build on.
I enjoyed stitching again, just need to make time to put some stitches in during the week.
Yes I was quite happy with what i got done and it motivated me to get my stitching out more often
Thank you, i enjoyed working on him again
The retreat was great and I enjoyed stitching again, hopefully I can find some time to sit and do some more soon
I had a great time, it's not often you can dedicate whole day doing what you want to do. It did me the world of good
