Zippity do da

It's getting late so i will keep it short and sweet tonight, Friday is my 'downstairs' cleaning day (Thursday is 'upstairs', yes i have set cleaning days!!) and yes, people think i am quite strange because i quite like housework! I even, (dare i say this) like ironing (shock horror!!) i can hear a chorus of "OMG the woman is MAD" echoing around the world, lol. Anyway the point is I'm shattered and will be off to the land of nod soon, but before i go here is my progress on
La~ D~Da Zippity do da

Remember the excellent The Time Travelers Wife? This is Audrey Niffenegger's new novel, Her Fearful Symmetry. It's been my bedtime reading this last week. It's set around Highgate Cemetery in London and without giving anything of the story away it's essentially a ghost story and although i enjoyed it it's nothing like TTTW, but that is a hard act to follow!

Right, i promised it would be short so I'm gone...till next time, have a great weekend! x

So soft and appealing to the eye. Beautiful! Love the soft curves of the letters. That book sounds interesting....ghosts.....perfect book for this time of year. Maybe I should check that book out. Thanks.

Great progress on Zippity, Maggie!

I'll be interested to hear what you think of Her Fearful Symmetry. I finished it last week and am still trying to process what I think of it. I liked it but yet didn't care much for the characters. Niffenegger's reality is interesting, though... interesting concept of the ghosts. Without giving anything away--you will know what I'm talking about when you get near the end--but I am going to look at crows/ravens a bit differently now, and want to stitch them... I'm thinking Ida Mae and Ira Crow right about now. ;)

You asked where I buy my linen from, and I do my overseas shopping through Elegant Stitch, Needlecraft Corner, and Only One Ewe Needleworks. My stocking was a package that Drema at Needlecraft Corner put together, with the threads & linen discounted when purchased with the design.

Love Zippity Do Da and TTTW is one I have not read yet, but it is out of my comfort zone of Psychological Thrillers so I am not sure if I will like it.

I love your Zippity Do Da! I'm one of those people who has set cleaning days for certain parts of the house too! I've heard bits and pieces about Her Fearful Symmetry but have yet to read it myself.

Hi Maggie,
Zippity Do Dah looks fabulous! Can't wait to see more of it! I downloaded Her Fearful Symmetry to listen to eventually. Isn't it odd that the cover of the book in the states looks completely different. I much prefer your cover. I agree, TTTW would be a hard act to follow and I want to keep that in mind when I start listening to this book.

Hi Maggie! If you are mad then so am I. I love being a housewife and would hate to have to work outside the home. I am so grateful I don't have to. I set goals for myself too as I find it helps. I love ironing. There is no better feeling than seeing one of Jos' shirts looking fresh and crisp when I finish.

Zippity Do Dah is just beautiful.

Hugs ~
Heidi

Zippity is great! I love the colors in that piece. Can you believe I've not read TTTW? It's on my list of must reads however!

I love to iron and do housework as well! I really can't relax if the house isn't spiffed up! I hate that about myself sometimes, but I don't think your crazy in the slightest!
Love Zippity. It's looking great. Thanks for the book idea.
Take Care!

I love to iron too! As for the other housework, not so much. Your Zippity looks great. I never finished TTW but maybe I would like this one better.

Your progress looks fantsatic! There is nothing wrong with set cleaning days . . . maybe I would get more house work done if I set days to do it! LOL I use to love ironing so much that my dad would pay me to iron his jeans while I was in high school just as an excuse to give me some extra cash!

Love Zippity. Will have to see if they've got that book at the library - am interested enough to want to read it, after enjoying TTTW. :0)
