A Wednesday Catch up With a Small Give Away

I was tickled to read the comments on my last post about the flower/weed in my garden, i knew that you ladies would come up trumps :-)  I'm greatful to those who told me that it is an Aquilegia or a Columbine, depending on where you live (I think).  Cath let me know that it is also known as Grandmother's Bonnet, how sweet is that!  The flower does remind you of a frilly bonnet when you look close. Thanks for the advice on the plant too Cath :-)
Katherine also let me know that it is the state flower of Colorado.  So now i'm just going to let it flourish, how could i possible get rid of something with such a pretty name and a one that has a title too!
~~~~~~~
My eldest daughter had her 20 week scan on Monday, I'm glad to report that all is progressing nicely.  Apparently this scan is known as the gender scan, apart from checking that everything is as it should be, they were also asked if they wanted to know what it was.  They were both agreed that they didn't want to know what it was before the birth, Jenny's answer to anyone who asks what she's having is, "it's a baby" !
She will most likely want to kill me for sharing this photo!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do have a stitching finish to share this time too (about time I hear you say!)
Can you guess what it is?

It's Dandy Dreams by Silver Creek Samplers

I enjoyed stitching this so much,
once I started I couldn't put it down

Mark, at the stitching shop did a lovely job with the framing again, he even customised this frame for me, he painted the frame to match the green thread i used and distressed it.

Here it is a little closer

This one will have a place in the guest bedroom,
(which should be finished next week)

The Give Away
Since I enjoyed this one so much I thought someone else might like the Dandy Dreams chart :-)

If you would like your name entered in the draw please say so in the comments only, (not by email), and I will draw a name next Wednesday evening, June 6th.

Oh, and it will be open to anyone, home or overseas :-)

Until next time...

Congratulation to your daughter. Love that she wants to wait until the baby is born to know the gender. Every time I see Dandy Dreams finished I think that I need to stitch it, please enter me in the drawing. Love your framing finish.

What a beautiful finish! I love the frame, great job on that. I think that I have this chart at home, so don't include me in the drawing, please.

Your daughter looks good and 20 weeks along, how exciting! Half-way there!

How great that your framer customized the frame and even matched the floss color--looks wonderful! I have been looking high and low for this chart and would like to enter your giveaway.

Dandy Dreams looks fab , and the frame really sets it off. I have mine mounted in green with a brown frame, lol.I almost hated finishing it as I enjoyed stitching it so much.
Most people found it quite unusual that we didn't want to know the sex of our kids at the scans , even the sonographer , lol.
Good luck to your Daughter , she looks great .X

Jenny looks adorable. I don't think she'll hate you for posting her picture. I think it's cool that she is waiting until birth to find out the baby's gender. Not many do that anymore.

You stitching is, as always, beautiful! Congrats on the finish.

I thought of you this week. I was searching for some more species of Columbine for my garden and found one almost identical to the one in your photo. Naturally I just had to add it to my collection!
Congratulations to your daughter! I was also one of the ones who didn't want to know which sex I was carrying. It's more fun that way!
Please add my name to your giveaway. It's such a lovely design and you've done a wonderful job on it!

I love this chart and would love to win! Did you know it's the only plant to represent the sun (when blooming), the moon ( with full seed head) and the stars ( when the seeds scatter)?

Congrats to your daughter. How exciting. How refreshing to 'not' knowing the sex. Love that.

Your daughter is blooming Maggie, she looks lovely, halfway there now, time will fly so fast and that little bundle will soon be here for a cuddle with nanny.

Hi Maggie! Your daughter is looking beautiful and good to hear all is well.

I know the flowers as Granny's bonnets. I have them all over the garden at Cranberry Cottage. It started with just one plant. When the seed pods form, allow them to become dry and then if you would like more, just carefully open the pod and spread the seeds. I do this each year.

I would love to enter your drawing as this is one chart I was thinking about buying. Fingers crossed but I never win giveaways. :-)

Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi

Oooooo, I just LOVE this piece. Always have, ever since it first came out. The frame is BEYOND awesome. I can not BELIEVE what a good job he did with it. Now *that* is a framer. Looks great!!!!

Your daughter looks beautiful. None of us will tell that you posted her pic. What picture? ;^)

Well Maggie,

Here I am come to visit and see what you've been
up to. And it seems you've been busy, as always.

First up, congrats on your impending Grand-
motherhood. Jenny looks wonderful in your
photo.

Oh I do love that Dandy Dreams pattern and
am so jealous that you've stitched it and had
it so beautifully framed. Of course we're
not fond of dandelions in our yard but hanging
on a wall in the house is something else again.

Please add my name to your draw for this
pattern. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Your garden's looking wonderful and so lush
and green. We've had a bit of a dry spell
here although that came to a crashing end
on Friday when it literally rained the entire
day. That Colombine is gorgeous. I'll bet
you're glad you didn't dig it up. I had one
in my garden for awhile but it didn't come
back one year. It wasn't quite as nice as
yours is.

We've been renovating here as well, including
some changes to the kitchen. I'll be posting
pictures on my blog. Yours looks terrific.
Love those granite countertops, the tap
over the sink, the pantry and that luscious
red cookstove. Wow!!!

Cheers!

Your daughter is beautiful! Tell her that if I looked that good when I was pregnant, I might have had more kids. ;)

Beautiful finish!! Love the frame, too.
