I want to stitch ALL the things..

And knit ALL the things and crochet ALL the things!!

There are so many beautiful charts and patterns out there, but I have been looking through my stash and come up with some things that I want to stitch this year, I will probably have to buy fabric and thread but I'm going to try and resist the temptation to buy any more charts, don't laugh, i mean it, well for now at least :-)

These charts are in my stash and I would like to stitch them this year.

In between stitching there has to be some crochet, and I happened across this beautiful blanket on Instagram a few months ago and discovered it was in a back issue of Molly Makes.

(photo taken from ravelry)

I went in search, as you do, and found the back issue in question on ebay, bought it and then when it arrived realised that I already had it, grrrr, and then I found it on Ravelry, double grrr
That'll teach me!

So if anyone should fancy this copy of Molly Makes, Issue No. 24 because they like the look of this blanket or just to browse and get inspiration from all the pretty pictures within it's covers, then please let me know in the comments and it shall be yours.
I'll post to wherever.

(If more than one person wants it I will draw names, just to make it fair)

Anyway, the blanket squares are worked in various shades of Sirdar Crofter and by happy coincidence just after I had bought the magazine I met with some crofter on sale at my local yarn shop, right place, right time, for once :-)

There were 7 balls altogether so obviously there is not enough for the whole blanket but I can add to it as and when, (and if I find it on sale all the better)

The knitting that has made it to the list is already a WIP.
I can't remember if I've even shown it on here before, but here it is so far.

It's the Caramel cardigan, a free pattern off Ravelry.
It's worked top down, which was a first for me but not as difficult as I thought it would be.

I still like it so I do want to finish it.

So those are my crafty goals for now.  Aside from that I've set my reading challenge on Goodreads to 40 books again, I only just managed to achieve that in 2016 but I did have a a good couple of months where I couldn't get into anything.  Hopefully I can avoid that this year.  I've decided I want to read the Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels.  I know there are a lot so i'm going to add one a month to my list, unless of course I completely hate the first one and if that's the case I will just re-think my list :-)

I also saw a saving challenge that appealed to me, The 52 Week Money Challenge.
The idea is to save £1 in week one, £2 in week two, £3 in week three and so on until in week £52 you will save £52.  By the end of the year you will have saved £1,378.

But, I'm not going to do it like that, I'm going to do it in reverse.  For me the summer months and the end of the year seem to be more expensive times of the year so my week started with £52 and will go down £1 each week.  This is just something that I thought I'd challenge myself to do, just to see if I could do it, I've got no plans for the money, as yet anyway.

Week 2 has been added to my pot today.

I'd love t hear if you have any goals for 2017, craft or not.

The first working week of 2017 has been done, and it really wasn't that bad, I'm going to make more of an effort to be positive about it, there are worse jobs, and goodness knows i've done some of them!
So I really shouldn't moan.

Wishing you all the best for 2017.

Until next time
-X-

You post made me laugh, I too would love to stitch and sew everything. Have enough patterns in my stash to keep me busy for decades. The crochet blanket is just gorgeous, learning to crochet ha been on my list of goals for a few years. x

I am most impressed with your money saving Maggie. One of my goals for this year is to find help for my headaches!

Good projects all, I still have one that I started in 2016 I need to finish and a crochet project to pick out.

You have lots of great craft goals. I'm so with you on charts. I really don't have too much linen or floss at all but the charts, oh dear! Actually my goal is not crafty, my DH and I want to do more road trips this year. I generally stitch from about 8 to 10 every evening and will be keeping that up. That's when my DH watches tv. It really works for us. At least I'm not bored and falling asleep!!

Lovely kits. I always fancied do the saving like that, but not sure I could afford it at the end of the year. Thank you for the idea of doing it in reverse

Some lovely stitching, crochet and knitting goals for the year. I'm like you - I want to do everything! It's a pity there are not enough hours in the day.

Love all of your goals for the year. I hope you enjoy the Jack Reacher books! I adore them! You may find you can't limit yourself to only one a month. I think I read the first 6 in a row.

My 2017 goals are to get back to work on my Lobo cross stich project which took a full year hiatus during 2016. My non-craft goal is to be more positive about life. A friend posted a system of writing down one good thing that happened during each day on a slip of paper and placing it in a jar. I think I am going to do something like that. But since I don't need more slips of paper floating around the house I will try to post to my blog each day. Did not start yet, but hopefully will do so today.

The crofter does knit up nicely, I've used it before, the blanket will be great using it.
Love the cardigan, that looks cosy.
Great charts you have, I have enough to keep my busy for .....oh let me see..... forever!

Lovely new stash and what a gorgeous blanket! Love it. If you find the secret to being more positive about work please let me know as that's one of my goals too. The other is to stitch every day.

There's so many lovely things out there to stitch, crochet and knit, it's hard to narrow it down so setting yourself these goals is such a good idea. I usually set myself some goals but just haven't thought about it at all this year, though I do have my fifty before fifty list to work from so I think that's enough for now. I like your savings challenge and it will be a nice amount to do something with if you manage it. I had thought about doing the 365 day savings challenge where you save 1p on day 1, 2p on day 2 until you get to £3.65 on the last day of the year. It works out that you've saved over £650 by the end of the year. I haven't done anything about it yet but I might still do it and just start late.

I can't wait to see your blanket grow, Maggie--it will be beautiful! And I think I may follow your lead on the saving money--what a great idea :) Just think of all the fun things you'll be able to purchase at year's end!

Those are some lovely charts you've chosen and what a pretty colorful blanket! Love the cardigan - I'm hoping to expand my knitting skills this year and knit a sweater - maybe. : ) And good luck on your savings challenge. That's a nice sum of money at the end!

Oh Maggie! I couldn't agree with you more. I want to stitch and knit ALL the things too! I just learned to knit the end of December and now I'm on fire. I can't find enough time to knit! I also want to stitch about a dozen or so things too. I'm going to have to get crackin'!

That blanket looks lovely! I've used Sirdar Crofter before (I knitted a scarf with the Fair Isle colorway) and I loved it. I'm sure you'll enjoy crocheting with it too! :D
