I tidied the greenhouse out this morning before the sun got to that part of the garden, all the spare pots are washed and stacked neatly ready to use again. At the moment, the only plants in there are a tray of rudbekia that needs potting on plus, some calabrese and savoy cabbage that needs planting out at the allotment.
A gave the garden a good watering this morning too. Even some of the plants in the ground are starting to droop in this heat, We've got heavy clay soil, and it drys out really quickly in the Summer. We're lucky we haven't got a hosepipe ban at the moment, but if we don't get some decent rain soon, I don't think it'ss be long before we do.
The allotment is surviving, I've been going down there between 7 and 8pm in the evening and staying until around 10pm. It's not ideal but it gets full sun all day, which is great for growing vegetables - not so great when you're the one working in it! I'll post an update on how it looking soon.
Other than keeping the plants watered and trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible, there hasn't been a lot else going on here. Oh, I nearly forgot - I did make some bunting for the summer house this week using an old table runner. It got me thinking I should make some for the allotment too. Maybe that'll be this week's little project...we'll see!
How are you all coping with this heat? I definitely find that the older I get, the less I can handle hot weather. Everything seems to take twice as long, and by the afternoon my energy levels have completely disappeared. Is anyone else finding the same, or is it just me?

I'm struggling this week, we are not doing much, but its still too hot for me, I have a few small tweaks to make in the garden, no point in this heat. I love your bunting, mine has all been taken down it had faded, not decided if I will make more.
I do not like the heat!
I take things at a slower pace when the temperature gets too hot.

Like you as I'm getting older I don't enjoy very hot days and nights. Luckily we are managing to get some sleep.
Too hot for me too, but fortunately Wimbledon was on TV so good reason to stay inside wi6th fans etc going,, garden pots were watered each evening but still some plants drooped.
Because of living where I do, I usually am ok with heat, but the humidity of late has been a lot. The cold kills me! I will say everything growing in a pot was unhappy last week, but we got some rain yesterday and today so they perked up with that.
Oh Yes , I am trying to keep going .
But after my morning jobs , I have had it .
Can't even stitch much , we try and do the garden first thing in the morning . We are well over 30 most days , It was starting to go down yesterday but it's now going back up again.
We did have a windy few days , that was nice .
But today no wind and its feeling very hot again and it's not even 8.00 yet. Try and keep cool if you can , hugs June.
It's definitely too hot for the plants, we came home from holiday and the sun has wreaked havoc on my garden. Lots of TLC needed now. We're lucky we don't have this climate too often so I try and embrace it when the heatwaves arrive, it's better than being cold (for me), I hate the cold weather.
I think that's all you can do to try and beat it.

For me the only way to embrace a heatwave would be to hibernate until it was over, lol. Unfortunatly that's not possible, I just hope sensible temperatures return soon. I much prefer cold to hot, you can get warm, it's hard to cool down.
We stayed in a cabin on the weekend and the heat was unbearable. At one point on Saturday we reached 35C and it felt like 42C. Sunday was worse, but by the time it hit the high of 37C (feeling like 48C) we were home and in air conditioned comfort. I love the bunting, so very pretty.

I'm exactly the same and finding the hot weather difficult to deal with especially in the late afternoon. Hope you manage to find a little shade this week. Pretty bunting, it looks lovely against the pink.
I definitely feel the heat more than I used to and I lived in Florida for 33 year. Now I live up "north" and it's either too hot or too cold. LOL
Your bunting is very sweet. Those are perfect with your chair and your wall color.
