Dandelion cardigan, finished

It's been well over a year in the making, but at last it's finished!

Lady Mademoiselle Dandelion Cardigan by Along Avec Anna

Knitted using Drops Nord in the colour number 07

I raided my button stash and came up with this colourful arrangement and I like it :-)

Someone asked me about the pattern last time I posted about this, the name is at the top of this post and you can find the paid for pattern on Ravelry.

I'm still determined to get some more projects finished before I start anything new but I just haven't got the inclination to do much of anything right now.

Covid fatigue has hit me, I didn't feel it whilst I had Covid but this last week it has been an effort to do anything at all, I feel so sluggish , my taste is coming back a little but I still can't smell anything.

On top of that we have reached another stage with mum.  I started going up again this week and it seems that she has deteriorated a little more, she couldn't even get to a standing position let alone walk this week but, to cut a very long story short, the doctor and the Occupational Therapist decided that a spell in respite would be helpful not only for us but for mum too.  She will go on Tuesday for two weeks and be assessed again towards the end of those two weeks.  She understands when you tell her but has forgotten again the next day so it's going to be hard but it's getting to the stage where she is not safe at home, she had a fall again the week before last, luckily she didn't suffer any injury, this time.

On top of feeling so tired this week I've been straight back into my turn on the caring rota and dealing with all the phone calls to do with arranging respite, the memory clinic assessment, OT assessment, doctors as well as cancelling / re-arranging some appointment that mum had in the next couple of weeks.  I feel totally drained with it all, so forgive me if I don't visit or comment on you blogs for a while, I'm going to take these next two weeks to re-charge my batteries and hopefully find some energy from somewhere.

See you soon

Edited...And just to add to everything going on, we got up this morning to find that Marks car had been stolen during the night, his tools, job files everything, gone!
Sigh

You've made a lovely job of your cardigan, and I like the colour, it will go with so many things. Those buttons certainly jazz it up a little, not that it needs it, but they're very cheery. I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering from fatigue, it's very hard when you're a carer as once you're over a bout of illness you're expected to just pick up where you left off and it can knock you for six. Try to take some extra time to get over Covid, it's a nasty virus and you need to make sure you're properly better. Perhaps you can rest a little more once your mum's in respite care. It's good that she's now in the system as she'll get her assessments and any help she needs much quicker. It's very hard though knowing that they're declining, a rollercoaster ride of emotions for you. Another reason why you need to look after yourself. Sending hugs.

First, your cardigan is beautiful.
Oh my, dealing with your mom is enough to make you tired. I am not where you are yet and yet, I feel so worn out when dealing with watching her grow old. I have almost quit my blog more than once because I couldn't adequately reply to comments. I love the blog way more than social media forms so I try to keep up. Take care of yourself.

Take as much time as you need to recover and get your strength and energy back. I hope all goes well with your mom.

I think the cardigan is lovely and I do like the button colours and arrangement.

So sorry to read that you have Covid fatigue.
What with that and your Mum not doing too well, I can understand you need to re-charge your batteries.
Look after yourself, sending my good wishes.

All the best Jan

What a lovely cardigan, and the colourful buttons are perfect.

Sorry that you are now suffering from Covid fatigue. Take all the time necessary to recharge your batteries, you really have enough on your plate right now.

God bless.

Your cardigan is beautiful! I love the buttons you chose. Yes, the fatigue from covid is debilitating. Sounds like the right decision was made about your mom going to respite care for awhile. Best wishes for rest and a recharge:)

The cardigan looks great .
I understand , I had to deal with my Mom and Dad for years being an only child it was never easy .
I am only just getting my taste back after Christmas 2019 , I had a bad virus and so did some of my friends at club , we believe it was Covid then and one of my friends asked her doctor and she thinks it could well have been ! But only the women seem to get it .
I still have days when I can't get going and brain fog .
But very slowly I am getting back to normal after 2 years ! .
Take care and don't rush things .

So sorry to hear about all your troubles Maggie. Sometimes life can be like wading through treacle. Difficult to take care of yourself with so much going on. Sending you my best wishes.

Maggie dear ~ What an overflowing basket! You so deserve a break from it. Love the finished Sweater..a beauty. Bless you for your devotion to your Mum and it
seems that respite care should be beneficial for both
of you. So sorry about Mark's dilemma. If you would
not mind, I shall tuck you all into my prayers until
things level off for you. Blessings+

Your sweater is just beautiful!! But oh dear, you have had more than your share of problems. I hope by now some of your husband's things will have been found. Sometimes you do have good luck with that. Take good care of yourself and I am so sorry about your Mother. I went through much the same with my step-mom who I loved dearly.

Oh, I do love your cardigan, Maggie, and the colorful buttons really give it a nice, subtle punch of color. I'm so sorry to read that your mom has declined so much--it is hard to watch and deal with for sure. And your husband's car--oh, no! How terrible! Honestly, is nothing safe these days? I'm so sorry. I hope you are feeling less tired by now ♥
