October 1st - Really???

My blog posts seem to be few and far between of late, a bit like my stitching.  I've picked up this and that but don't really have anything to show for my efforts.  I have almost finished stitching a couple of Christmas ornaments for dd's #1 & 2, maybe this week I will surprise both you and me by getting them finished finished :-).

The first stitch group meeting went well on Wednesday.  There were 20 people interested, 4 of which couldn't come this time because of other commitments, and a few changed their minds, but in the end there was 9 of us on the night, which wasn't bad because to be honest if all 20 had turned up we would have been pretty pushed for space in that room!  There was a good mix of people and I'm pretty sure all the ones that showed this time will show again - so that's good.

No stitching for me today the weather has been so glorious that it was really a crying shame to stay indoors, so took myself off for a drive to Bourton-on-the- Water, in the Cotswold's.  It's only just over an hours drive from us and such a pretty place.
I'll leave you with some photos of Bourton and people enjoying this very un-seasonal weather.
(It's been like this all week, with temps of 28 and 29 degrees!  I've never had the air-con on in the car in October before :-))

I

Finally, some lovely English contryside

Thank you for visiting me today and leaving a comment, have a wonderful week. x

Hard to believe winter is coming with this lovely weather, isn't it? Loved Bourton, so long since I was there - the one with the miniature village?

Good luck with the group, what an excellent start. I found a very nice knitting group and they kindly allow me to stitch, lol!

I think I may have said this before, but your's was the first stitching blog I ever found, the first BLOG I ever found, really. I love to visit you here. Your photos are wonderful, makes me so want to visit the UK, and your stitching is fabulous. I'm with you here on the stitching and blogging. It has taken a back burner for me too. I think as the weather gets a little cooler, I'll find myself blogging a bit more.
Have a great day.

Your pictures are lovely! I so enjoy seeing the homes and countrysides and English life in general. That cottage and those flowers were positively dreamy :)

Doesn't everywhere look so much prettier drenched in sunshine! Alas the good weather has come to an end here in North Yorkshire...I'm looking out of the window and it's pouring with rain! Much more like October now!

Maggie - gorgeous pics! Loved the fuschia. Wow, a LOT of people were there with you; glad you found a quiet lane to enjoy. All the best on your stitch group success, sounds like it got off to a great start!

I enjoyed your photos very much! Enjoy all that sunshine. Our weather has turned rainy and there is a definite chill in the air.

How lovely to have a new craft group, such fun to share things with likeminded folks.

Bourton looks a lovely place, lots of others had the same idea as you, nothing nicer than cooling off with a paddle in the water.

Looking forward to seeing your ornies, i think the mojo is missing for a lot of ladies recently, the stitching one certainly is here, i'm doing more knit and crochet

Wow, I can't believe how warm it got where you are! We had one day of 28 or 29 degrees back on the day my son got out of school for the summer holidays--June 3 or so--and that was the warmest it's been all year. !! The town looks so wonderful. I love the town names over there, too... I was just reading a book by an author who is from Vale of the White Horse. I had to look it up to see if it was a real place. ;)

I'm so glad to read that the first stitching group meeting went well!
