I've never been one rush to see the latest film releases, (usually I'm the last to see anything)! but one in particular kept coming up when i was blog and group surfing - Twilight. I must have been hibernating because i missed the release of the book too! Anyway, Intrigued i put the film on my Blockbuster rental list and joined the rest of the world! I was not impressed, it was OK, i thought it started slow, it did get better but i was left wondering what it was all about. I know some of you will be reading this and thinking "stupid woman, doesn't know what she's talking about" (or something to that effect!) but let me redeem myself now - i have almost finished the book and i am loving it ! it's the best thing I've read in ages! I guess I'm better at suspending my disbelief with my nose in a book.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Between vampires I've finished part 6 of AT - the section on the left of the beasties.
This has been put away now until the beginning of July when the next installment is due out, so i have been working on Live Simply the last couple of nights, this is my progress.
A few people expressed a liking for this chart, so i was thinking, (i do sometimes, honest!) would anyone out there be interested if i started a traveling pattern?? It would be fun don't you think to see how far this chart could travel! Please leave a comment if you are interested and i will sort out more details in my next post.
Until next time then...Tara-a-bit
As I read the start of your post I was thinking to myself that you MUST read the book before seeing the film. So much of the book is about the characters thoughts and feelings, so hard to get over in a two hour film. I'd also recommend taking a peek at the authors website, she started to write the first book from Edwards point of view, you can download it there - very interesting! Lovely stitching by the way!
Oh man, I was starting to worry about you, Maggie!! Not liking the film. Girl, you are all kinds of crazy!! LOL But I agree with Molly, I think you need to read the book and then see the movie. There are so many things in the movie that you wouldn't get if you didn't read the book, like why Jasper looked like he was in pain all the time, why Edward was laughing to himself during the cafeteria scene, etc. Also, Stephenie Meyer was sitting at the counter during one of the sandwich shop scenes, etc. Ahem, okay, yeah, not obsessed at all.
Your WIPs are beautiful!! I already have the chart for Simply Live but will enjoy watching its progress if you do get any takers!
Just thought I'd drop by and say hi! Love your stitching. I cant wait to see your Live Simply progress.
I was not a fan of the movie. I enjoyed the books though. I did get a little bored in the middle of the book with all the hand holding and face touching though...guess I am just not romantic enough! LOL It did keep in interested enough to read all 4 books though!
I would LOVE it to come to Chicago!
Both of your stitched pieces are going to be beautiful finishes!
You're not the only one Maggie! I haven't seen the movie or read the book.
That chart needs to see the Appalachian mountains ( the USA's little ones).
Jane in WV
Your projects in progress are so beuatiful.
Beautiful wips!
and yes, that is a wonderful idea about a traveling pattern! I'd love to be a part of that!
Hi Maggie,
Thanks for your nice comment on my blog. I love yours! I read it often, and will try and comment more frequently.
I love the pictures of your travels. I long to visit these places as well!
As for Twilight. I will admit that I haven't seen the movie yet. (It's in my "cue" at Netflix, so I'll be seeing it in the next week or so.)
I really liked the first few books, but by the last book I was sick to death of it all, and couldn't wait to finish it! I think I am unique in that view, but the last one just didn't grab me the way the first 2 did.
BTW, I love the "simply live" pattern! I would love to be included in the traveling pattern exchange. What a brilliant idea! Please count me in. Your stitching is beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Maggie,
First, thank you for your comment on my blog.
Next, I would LOVE to be included in the traveling pattern group for Simply Live. I have been eyeing this one for a while. :)
Last, your stitching is lovely on both pieces.
Kathy
PS. I'm not a fan of vampire movies or books so I cna't comment on either. :)
Haven't read the book or seen the film..... I'll catch up eventually. LOL
AT is gorgeous & you're making good progress on LS. I don't know how this travelling pattern thing work but am definitely interested in finding out. LOL :0)
So glad that you are enjoying Twilight! The books are soooo good! Your WIPs are beautiful!
Beautiful progress on both projects.
I am sure interested to join in the travelling pattern.
I haven't read Twilight or seen the movie. I love your WIPs and would be interested in signing up for a traveling pattern if you do it!
The stitching is looking great Maggie! I not only have never read the book or seen the film, I only heard about it when my niece saw it. I am not into vampires so I won't be reading or watching it anyway. :-) I just started a traveling pattern sisterhood or I would have loved to do this one. This is so adorable.
Thanks for visiting my new blog. I am looking forward to filling this blog now too. :-)
Hugs ~
Hi Maggie
I am not really into vampires so I have not seen or read them.
I love your AT! I love the red color!
I would also love to be in on your chart travel and have it come the north of MN! What a great idea!
Eliza
I've not read or seen Twilight!! I want to do both and think I'll start with the book. Great idea about the travelling chart.
Maggie ~ Good luck with your hospital visit. I just read about the traveling chart and I would be interested in doing it, too. If it is not too late. If you draw my name out close to the top put me at the bottom cause I am so late coming to the fair. Others have been here way before me and I don't mind.
Thanks a lot. Come and see my new blog ~ it is http://the flyingitchesneedle.blogspot.com. Take care and God Bless ~
Hi Maggie! I'm new to your blog- got to it via a blog list on another blog.. :) Have you ever read the Southern Vampire mysteries by Charlaine Harris? They are fun and quirky, but also suspenseful, you may want to check them out when you finish the Twilight series. :)
Is it too late to stitch the traveling pattern? I have sent one post but never heard back from you.
My email addy is at the bottom. reddrooster@gmail.com.
Thanks for your time.
God Bless ~
I'm probably really late too, but I'd love to join the travelling pattern! sara
