Happy New Year!

I hope that 2013 is everything you hope it will be.

I know many people make resolutions at this time of year, a time for new starts etc.   Personally I haven't made resolutions for a long time, and I'm not going to this year.  There are a few things I would like to do though, like visit more places and get out more at the weekends, read more and try to be a happier person.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I've set my reading goal to 50 books this year again (on Goodreads), Although I didn't reach my goal of 50 books last year It seems like a nice round number to go with, If I don't reach it again that's OK.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I've joined in with Elaine's 2013 Christmas Ornament SAL for the first time and have been searching for freebies to stitch, I've found a few that fit the bill and look as though they will be quite quick to stitch, just need to sort out some fabric.

My first outing of 2013 is going to be the cinema today, I'm going to see 'The Impossible' this afternoon, just me, a bottle of coke and large cheesy nachos, lol.

Until next time x

Good plans for the new year. I will also set a number of books on Goodreads that I want to read no matter if I'll reach the goal. And other than that I plan to start a couple of new projects, like every year. But no resolutions either.
Have a great New Year!

Reading is a wonderful hobby or for me I should say listening to audio books as I sew.

I too gave up making New Year resolutions many years ago.

Enjoy your film and the cheesy nachos. LOL.

New Year's resolutions always sound so daunting and they always sound like you are Judged at the end of the year. Too much pressure! Goals seem like they can be small and attainable!

Sounds like you are off to a great start to the New Year with a movie and nachos! Happy 2013!

Happy New Year. I don't make resolutions. Have a few ideas I'd like to achieve but nothing set in stone. Look forward to seeing your ornaments.

Happy New Year to you too. Hope the movie was a good one -- I'm guessing that the soda and snacks were good! LOL

50 books! Oh, my! I wish you luck. I'm certainly lucky if I can get five down in a year's time. I do better with magazines, where I just mostly look at the pictures and read an occasional article. Loved your picture.

Happy New Year.
I've joined the ornament SAL again this year - didn't manage the full set last time but thoroughly enjoyed the SAL.

Hi Maggie! I love to read, too, but stitching kind of threw that out... Nicola has the right idea--audio books! Excellent idea! I like the idea of the ornament SAL, and am going to contemplate that... but will we confuse them, with two of the same name?? Though I spell my name quite differently than most... Hugs!

Mmmmmm, NACHOS!!!!!!!!
No, no, no! I already resolved to get back to eating better this month after a craptastically, shortbread cookie infused December. DURN IT, now I want nachos. *sigh*

Was the film good?
I'm sure this year will be full of wonderful things for you and lots of Hapoy times.

I feel short on my GoodReads reading goal in 2012 too. Just too busy crocheting and quilting gifts in the end. Good luck with your goal. I have yet to set one this year.

Wishing you a new year filled with joy, creativity and lots of good books Maggie!

Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi

Happy new year, Maggie, to you and yours! Best of luck on your reading goals. I made my goal of 100 and set myself up for 110 this year. We'll see how that goes!
