Happy birthday mum

Tomorrow would have been my mums 97th birthday.

I like this photo of her, it was taken at Oliver's Christening in 2013, she would have been 85 here.
She never did looked her age and always had beautiful skin, never needed to wear any make up.

She had funny sayings that we used to laugh about, and a dry sense of humour and a knack of always being right about things.

Also this coming Monday, 1st September, it will be 38 years since my dad died.
He died just four days after my mum turned 59, they were away in their caravan for the Bank Holiday weekend at the time, he was only 61, far to young to leave us.

I think about them both often.

My mum is always in my thoughts, she was such a huge impression on me, a strong honest kind lady, we never stop missing our mums.

Oh Maggie , your mother looked a lovely lady .
It's always a sad time but we have the happy times to think about .
I lost both of my parents , and this month we will be thinking of my beautiful daughter. She was a beautiful person and died with her baby so sad., We were blessed to have have them in our lives
even for a short time. Bless you all , hugs June.

I agree Maggie, your mum did not look 85 in that photo. It's hard when parents die. I am lucky mine are still with us.

Your mum certainly doesn't look her age in the photo. A really lovely picture of a special mum. Enjoy the good memories of your mum and dad.

That's lovely Maggie, my mother would have been 108 in November, I never knew her, she died when I was 2 but I visit her grave on her birthday.

I don't think we ever get over losing our parents, and it's sad when birthdays come around and they're not here to celebrate them. It's nice to have happy memories to look back on though. Sending hugs xx
