A Win, The Eagles & Mary Wigham

A few weeks ago Ginnie (Jayne) held a blogoversary give away, and guess who won :-) As a rule i don't win anything so it must have been my turn :-) The funny thing is that Jayne lives just a few miles away from me! and for her daughter to draw my name out of entries from far flung places was amazing. This is what the postie bought on Saturday morning .

Bent Creek's Summer Basket which she made into a cute little hanging ornament , thank you Jayne, it is now sitting in my fairy light sticks :-)

Last Wednesday was the Eagles concert, it was a good job Mark checked the tickets because I'd been telling him it was at the NEC and it was at the NIA!!! same sort of venue but in a completely different part of Birmingham, lol. It was better really, the NIA is a bit smaller and the acoustics are better. We were actually sitting in the gods we couldn't have been any higher up, but it made for a great view and considering they are pensioners (or almost!!!) they were brilliant! I hadn't played the 'Long Road Out of Eden' CD more than once before we went, now it's my new favourite CD :-)

After much browsing of all the Mary Wigham's out there i finally made a start, but not with the threads that i bought on my visit to The Nimble Thimble a few weeks ago, I've gone for something completely different - well a girl's allowed to change her mind isn't she ;-)

I came across this colour combination from one of the Ladies across the channel and thought how well it would go in my house so I'm afraid i am guilty of plagiarism, lol. I have no idea what DMC numbers they used so i just went in search of 2 browns and a red (ish), I'm really pleased with the way it's looking at the moment. There is one thing that's worrying me though, if your stitching this are you correcting the mistakes and making it symmetrical? or are you stitching it as it comes? I'm a bit scared of making changes, so mine will probably be stitched as it comes, or it will for now anyway :-) Right, I'm off because Mary is calling from the corner of the sitting room, your visits and comments are much appreciated so thank for stopping by :-)
Till next time - Tara-a-bit x

Your colors are striking and lovely for Mary. Like you I'm stitching as it's charted although the last motif on the right really twisted my tail. I still have trouble looking at it.
You've made a great start I plan to come back and check your progress.

Summer Basket is so pretty - congratulations on your win! Your Mary Wigham sampler is going to be gorgeous. I love your color scheme. I haven't started this one yet, but when I do stitch it I'm going to stitch it as it comes. I think the mistakes are supposed to be there if there are any.

Glad you enjoyed the Eagles!

Sounds like a wonderful concert! Congrats on your win! I feel like I never win anything either, but I do every once in a while.
I'm really loving your colors on Mary Wigwam. Great choices indeed. What DMC numbers are you using? I think this is my favorite color combination yet! I'm a sucker for red, and the browns just seem to make them "pop".
Have a great day!

Maggie, your MW is looking gorgeous! I am a big fan of browns and reds, so I definitely approve of your palette. And as for copying, I for one would be flattered if you liked a palette that I chose. Also I would just stitch it to please you, no worries!

What a cute gift! Congrats of winning it!

Glad you enjoyed the concert! I LOVE the colours you're using for MW, in fact this colour scheme could well be the one to tempt me into stitching this design. How lucky to win such a cute little pillow.

Congrats on your win. I think it is amazing you won but couldn't go to a better person.
I love your cats, being a cat person. I especially like the one in the Christmas tree. Oh, the black and white one with the crossed paws is so cute, too. My siamese does that, too.
I like your colors for MW but I will admit I had to look at them twice. But it is quite striking!
Nice little gift, also.
God Bless ~
